The Cycling team KMEATERS Limassol Cycling Team have organized the 8th Theotokos Tour from 5 to 7 October 2018. The purpose of the Tour was to collect donations and contributions for the benefit of Theotokos Foundation, which supports children with special abilities, so to improve the quality of the services offered.
The Tour lasted for three days, covering approximately 300 kilometers and around fifty cyclists were participated. The Tour started from the Theotokos Foundation premises in Limassol and reached the village of Agros at the end of the first day. On the second day, cyclists were directed to Larnaka passing from Maheras’ monastery. In the third and final day the Tour completed, as usual, at Limassol Municipal Garden, where the 25th “Annual Fete” was organized for the benefit of Theotokos Foundation. The participation in the Tour was mainly granted to the members of KMEATERS.
Theotokos Tour was held for the 8th consecutive year and has been established as one of the most important charity cycling events in Cyprus. Since 2011, KMEATERS Cycling Team have contributed, through the Theotokos Tour, about €80,000. These funds were used for the purchase of a small shuttle bus equipped with a special lifting machine, the implementation of various infrastructure projects in the Foundation premises and the purchase of other machinery and equipment.
